Is my diploma valid abroad?

1 – Have your diploma translated.

A CV in English or Spanish is the minimum, but we also think about having our diploma translated (we contact the embassy of the country in which we want to apply to ask how to obtain a recognized translation), to find out if we can benefit from an equivalence, even partial.

2 – Want to work in Europe?

It's the simplest:everything is done to facilitate mobility, and diplomas are now easily recognised, especially since training has been harmonized in bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees.

3 – And in the rest of the world?

The most universal diploma is the MBA (Master of Business Administration), recognized almost everywhere in the world and delivered by certain French schools. For other diplomas, we contact Enic-Naric, the French center for information on the recognition of diplomas, which will give us all the useful tips depending on the country in which we dream of going to work.

4 – Is it valid for all professions?

No, there are regulated sectors for which you will have to pass a diploma in the country where you want to move. This is often the case for health professions (but there are also equivalence agreements, such as for nurses between France and Quebec), legal or technical. Commercial professions are exported quite easily. As well as French teachers! In all cases, contact the professional association of the country (order of lawyers and doctors, for example).
