The Carpimko:who is affiliated and who contributes to this pension fund?

The acronym Carpimko stands for the Autonomous Pension and Provident Fund for nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists and orthoptists. This is the organization that manages pensions in particular, but which also has social missions, of all liberal medical auxiliaries.

What is Carpimko? What are its missions?

The Autonomous Pension and Provident Fund for Nurses, Masseur-Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists and Orthoptists (Carpimko) is one of the ten organizations that manage the old-age and disability-death insurance schemes for the liberal professions. It is part of one of the branches of the National Pension Fund for Liberal Professions (CNAVPL) which, as its name suggests, is aimed at liberal professions such as doctors, dental surgeons, midwives, pharmacists, architects, accountants, veterinarians, notaries, bailiffs, etc.

The Carpimko particularly concerns liberal medical auxiliaries such as nurses, masseurs-physiotherapists, podiatrists-podiatrists, speech therapists and orthoptists.

How the Carpimko works

Carpimko is governed by the Social Security Code, and more specifically by its articles L640-1 and R641-1. This pension and provident fund is controlled by the Ministries of Solidarity and Health, of the Economy, as well as by the Court of Auditors.

Carpimko is managed by a board of directors, made up of 22 full members and 22 alternates elected from among its affiliates, which notably defines the statutes of the organization and votes on its budgets. All decisions of the Carpimko are applied if they have received the approval of its supervisory authorities.

Carpimko missions

Carpimko manages the pension scheme for self-employed medical assistants, which includes their basic pension from the CNAVPL, their supplementary pension scheme paid directly by Carpimko, as well as an additional scheme, the Advantage Social Old Age (ASV) for some of these contracted professionals.

Carpimko also has social support missions, in particular aimed at its most modest retired policyholders via, for example, financial aid to finance the intervention of a housekeeper in their home, work to fit out their home related to the state of health of the insured, a retirement home, etc.

Who contributes to Carpimko? For what rights?

All professionals, nurses, masseurs-physiotherapists, pedicurists-podiatrists, speech therapists and orthoptists, who exercise a liberal activity in France and in the overseas departments are obliged to join Carpimko from the start of their activity. .

In principle, at the time of the declaration of their establishment, the Business Formality Center (CFE) managed by the URSSAF informs the Carpimko of the start of activity of these liberal health professionals who have no steps to take with the fund to be affiliated. However, they can register directly with Carpimko on its website.

On the other hand, Carpimko is also the pension and provident fund for collaborating spouses, employees or partners of its policyholders.

The rights of Carpimko policyholders

By being affiliated to the Carpimko, the self-employed medical auxiliaries concerned pay contributions which finance their basic and supplementary pensions and, for those of them who are under agreement, that is to say who do not apply free rates but set by Social Security, a plan called "Advanced social old age (ASV)", a supplementary pension plan that comes in addition to the first two.

Affiliate contributions paid to Carpimko also allow, in the event of disability, these self-employed medical auxiliaries to benefit from the payment of a daily incapacity allowance.
