As the trip nears its end, a subtle gloom creeps in. Another year until this highlight returns. I push it aside, savoring every remaining moment. On the drive home, I shift focus to the joys awaiting in the Netherlands.
Home arrival means rest from the journey, but unpacking follows swiftly. Kids dive into missed toys amid chaos—bags everywhere, scattered belongings, noisy excitement. After three weeks of tranquility, this 'bomb site' reignites stress instantly.
Normalcy resumes: sharing highlights with friends, then laundry, early alarms, school, and work. Familiar routines reclaim our days.
It takes time, but soon holiday memories fade, and I embrace daily life with renewed energy. Vacations thrill precisely because they're rare. That's their magic. Now, back to routine, with dreams of next year 😉.
