5 tips to decompress before the weekend

On weekends, it is sometimes difficult to let go and forget about your work. We think of all our files to complete and we feel guilty for not moving forward...Result? We feel tired, stressed and we do not take full advantage of our free time. The solution is to put yourself in a good state of mind on Friday evening and learn to appreciate the weekend even if it only lasts two days! Here are 5 tips to help us:

1/ Keep your rhythm

The weekend is THE time when you can go out with your friends, see Bibi... Yes, but don't go to bed too late! Disrupting your sleep pattern leads to bad nights and therefore fatigue. In addition to wasting precious free time, you will arrive at work exhausted …In short, you don’t necessarily benefit more if you party until the end of the night (with some exceptions of course!).

2/ Organize your weekend departure

On Friday evening at the office, we take 5 minutes to list everything we have accomplished this week … it allows us to see the progress of our work and to better decompress. In transport, you can read or listen to music, the idea is to devote this time between work and the weekend to breathe and "forget" all your files... until Monday!

3/ Going out on Friday night

To avoid thinking about work on Friday evening, we go out! The perfect opportunity to enjoy your friends and discover the new restaurant in the neighborhood (and why not?!). But our top 1 activity to decompress at the end of the week is the cinema! We are more focused in front of a film… transported by the story, the daily problems are far away.

4/ Do breathing exercises

Breathing (as well as heart rate) accelerates under stress, practice calming breathing exercises 5 to 10 minutes allows you to relax and release muscle tension. A simple exercise:put one hand on your chest while taking deep breaths and inflating your stomach. Conversely, on exhalation, you expel all the air from your lungs and you feel your stomach tighten.

5/ Take a moment for yourself

Reader, music lover, athlete or even hydrophile… whatever our hobby is, the idea is to take a little moment for yourself and do something that makes us happy and relaxes us. During this privileged moment, you turn off your phone, you disconnect from the outside world, in other words, you relax ! Sport is recommended for the most recalcitrant, practicing a sporting activity releases endorphins (happiness hormones) and improves the quality of sleep.
