Men and women hold markedly different expectations about employer pensions. For instance, 54% of men anticipate receiving sufficient pension benefits from their employer in retirement, while only one-third of women share this confidence. Strikingly, 43% of men versus 52% of women expect to receive less state pension (AOW) than current retirees. These findings emerge from a Nationale-Nederlanden survey of more than 1,000 respondents.
Women also demonstrate stronger saving habits, with 61% saving regularly compared to 55% of men. However, men typically save larger amounts, resulting in greater monthly surpluses, according to the research.
