This is how you design a modern home office

By now, almost everyone has cleared a place in their house to use as a home office. Hopefully you will no longer be sitting at the kitchen table, because then the line between home and work will become very blurred. If you hit it, there is still a room in the house that you have transformed into an office. Have you already fully furnished it or have you done little to decorate it? Since you spend many hours a day here, it is of course very nice if this place feels comfortable and stimulates productivity. We are happy to give you some tips in the field of furnishing.

Start with lighting

Lighting is very important in your office and it should also radiate some coziness. Instead of standard fluorescent tubes, you can install LED spots that give the room a sleek finish. If you can dim this, you are really doing well, because that way you can adjust the lighting to your mindset and to the seasons. For a hypermodern touch you can place LED strips under your desk, which you can change color. This way your office feels really high tech, without having to put in too much effort.

Choose your furniture carefully

It is logical that office furniture is not the prettiest, because it is simply designed for a specific purpose. It is especially important that you choose furniture that ensures that you can work comfortably and without distraction for several hours. Think of a nice office chair of which you can adjust the seat and the backrests, but also a desk that can be decorated according to your wishes. A standing-sitting desk can also come in very handy, for example if you have long meetings and you don't like sitting too long in a row.

Dress it up

Just like an actual office contains plants and furnishings, you can also place this in your office. You don't have to buy new plants right away, but you can simply move one from the living room to your office. This not only looks nice in the background of your video meeting, but also gives you a little more energy. You can also dress things up a bit with fine scented candles that lower your stress levels, nice posters with encouraging quotes or holiday snaps in beautiful frames. This way it not only feels modern but also personal.
