Turn Your Professional Experience into an Official Diploma with VAE

What is VAE?

VAE (Validation des Acquis de l'Expérience) lets you validate a master's degree—or similar qualification—without prior credentials like a BTS. It's based on proving you possess the required skills through real-world experience. Employed or not, you just need at least three years of professional work.

How long does it take?

Expect around 18 months on average. Start with an admissibility dossier submitted to the diploma-issuing school, backed by evidence of your roles: contracts, recommendation letters, prior diplomas, and more. If approved, build your validation dossier by organizing achievements like reports, projects, and publications, with detailed commentary and proof. Conclude with a jury review by professionals and academics—it's a discussion, not a high-stakes exam.

Is there support available?

Yes, for both funding (Pôle Emploi, local authorities, Fongecif, etc.) and hands-on help with dossiers, which is crucial. Begin by attending an information session in your academy.
