The employee review platform Meilleurs-Entreprises.com, which aggregates opinions from over 8,000 companies, has released its latest ranking of France's 10 least satisfying professions based on feedback from 120,000 workers. The findings are eye-opening. Leading the list is the notary clerk, with just 10.3% reporting job satisfaction. Advertising managers follow at 26.5%, and police officers at 27.4%. The full top 10 also includes quality operators, ERP analysts, IT specialists, salespeople, storekeepers, receptionists, and surprisingly, nurses. While receptionists and nurses often find deep meaning in their roles, both professions grapple with challenging working conditions.
Even among these dissatisfied workers, 40% express pride and attachment to their company's products or services. However, the biggest demotivator is limited professional growth—only 7.7% feel enthusiastic about development opportunities within their organizations, compared to 52% across all employees. This insight aligns with a recent Odoxa survey, where 85% of French people expressed openness to career changes. With such clear signals, perhaps it's time to explore new opportunities.
