Employees working under bosses with psychopathic and narcissistic traits suffer more depression from bullying and are prone to counterproductive behaviors. These insights come from researchers at the University of Manchester's Business School.
In three studies, 1,200 participants from various sectors and countries completed questionnaires on their psychological well-being, workplace bullying prevalence, and managers' personalities.
Data analysis revealed lower job satisfaction, higher clinical depression scores, diminished employee well-being, and elevated counterproductive work behaviors and bullying incidents.
