How Frequent Business Travel Undermines Your Health: Key Insights from Recent Research

Struggling to maintain a healthy weight? Frequent business travel might be the hidden culprit. A new study reveals that more than a third of regular travelers report abandoning healthy eating habits—from oversized lattes on the train to pastries between meetings or lavish client dinners.

This research, surveying 1,000 British workers who travel regularly for work, found their eating habits deteriorate most on the road (36% of respondents), closely followed by disrupted sleep patterns (33%). A super-comfortable bed topped their hotel priorities.

Those extra snacks and oversized meals add up fast: 58% of travelers estimated consuming 250 to 1,500 additional calories per day compared to a typical workday—potentially 50% above recommended daily intakes for men and women.
