How Prioritizing Sex at Home Boosts Job Satisfaction and Work Engagement

A study examining the work and sex habits of married professionals revealed that those who made time for intimacy at home reaped benefits the next day at work. They reported deeper immersion in tasks and greater enjoyment of their professional lives. Conversely, carrying work stress home diminished their sex lives, highlighting the value of compartmentalizing work and personal time.

To explore sex's impact on performance, researchers tracked 159 married workers over two weeks, with participants completing two brief daily surveys. Those who had sex experienced a positive mood boost the following morning, fostering sustained work engagement and job satisfaction throughout the day.

This effect, lasting at least 24 hours, held equally for men and women, even after accounting for marital satisfaction and sleep quality—key influencers of daily mood.
