Randstad Study: 43% of French Workers Stay Reachable During Holidays

A recent Workmonitor study commissioned by Randstad France reveals that 43% of French employees remain accessible via phone and email during their vacations. Surveying 13,500 workers across 34 countries, the research highlights how work encroaches on personal time. France trails the global average slightly, with 47% of employees worldwide staying available over holidays.

Asia leads in work devotion

Asians top the charts for staying tethered to work. Chinese employees rank highest at 81% unwilling to disconnect, followed by Indians at 78%, Turks at 71%, and Malaysians at 69%.

Smartphones extend office hours beyond vacations. In France, 46% of workers respond instantly to professional calls and emails outside regular hours.

Yet, 82% of French people (8 in 10) successfully switch off from work during holidays.
