Recruitment platform Monster recently released a survey examining common workplace habits among French employees. Impressively, 58% of respondents reported having no such habits. Men edged out women slightly, with 61% claiming no quirks compared to 53% of women.
The survey identifies personal internet browsing as the most prevalent habit, with more than one-third of employees admitting to surfing the web for non-work purposes during office hours. Other habits include micro-naps (6%), flirting at the coffee machine (2%), and taking colleagues' food or supplies (1%). Île-de-France residents reported the highest rates: 37% for personal web use, 11% for micro-naps—nearly double the national average—and 5% for food or supply theft. While self-reported data may carry some bias given the high number of 'exemplary' respondents, these findings offer valuable insights into modern office dynamics.
