As a seasoned Trello user with years of managing complex projects, I've learned that cluttered boards lead to overlooked tasks and wasted time. Regularly tidying your boards keeps everything visible and accessible.
A streamlined Trello setup enhances navigation and boosts productivity. Here's a proven routine based on real-world experience to get started.

Boards with little recent activity? Archive them to declutter your view. Access this via the More menu (click Show menu below your avatar in the top right), then select Close board.
Archived boards aren't deleted—they're hidden but retrievable. From the top-left Boards menu (next to Home), select View closed boards. Click Reopen to restore or Delete permanently.
Unstar unused boards in the Boards menu for a cleaner dashboard.

Lists and cards can proliferate quickly. Archive irrelevant ones to reduce noise.
For lists: Click the three dots next to the list name and choose Archive this list.
For cards: Open the quick edit menu (hover and click the pencil or press e), then select Archive. It's also under Actions on the card back. Hide activity details via Hide details next to Activity.

Retrieve archived items from Show menu > More > Archived items. For auto-scheduling, install the Card Snooze Power-Up from Show menu > Power-Ups—a must-have plugin for better workflows.

Stickers add flair but create visual clutter. Hover over any on a board or card and click remove.
Trim excess labels: From a card's quick edit menu, select Edit labels. Click the pencil next to a label, then Delete in the popup—note this removes it from all cards and erases history.
Disable unused Power-Ups (Trello's extensions) you no longer need to lighten your board.

Hoarding outdated info? Export it elsewhere. Trello's native JSON export is via Show menu > More > Print and export (Business Class users get CSV).
For spreadsheets, use the Export for Trello browser extension—far more readable and practical from my experience.

Enhance usability with Stylus (a browser extension for custom styles). Popular Trello themes include Trello Flat Minimal for compactness, Whiteboard with Colored Header for clarity, or Trello Slim Boards for a sleeker Boards menu.
