For women at the start of their careers or among millennials, robust career development opportunities are a top deciding factor when choosing an employer. A PwC study of 4,792 professionals across 70 countries, including over 200 from the Netherlands, reveals that 35% of women recently switched jobs due to limited advancement prospects.
Positive role models within the company matter greatly, with 67% of women viewing them as key to their employer selection—rising to 76% for early-career professionals. This is particularly true in male-dominated sectors like fintech and construction.
More than half (56%) of women assess a company's diversity initiatives before deciding, a figure that climbs to 61% among starters. Diversity influenced 61% of women's decisions to accept their most recent job offer. Both men and women consistently rank career prospects, competitive pay, and flexible working among their top three priorities.
