Email Overload Hits Dutch Offices: One-Third of Workers Report Major Stress, NBPO Study Reveals

A study by the Dutch Professional Association of Professional Organizers (NBPO), ahead of 'email-free Friday,' shows that one-third of Dutch office workers experience stress from business email volume. Stress intensifies with time spent: over half of those handling emails for two or more hours daily report it, and 11% feel significant distress. Nearly 40% dedicate 1-2 hours daily to email, while one-fifth spend a quarter of their workday on it. Executives invest more time, with a quarter managing 50-100 emails per day.

Additional key findings:
* 42% of Dutch employees say daily email flow distracts from core tasks.
* 90% keep email notifications always on, causing overload.
* 25% check business email on personal smartphones evenings and weekends; 20% find this burdensome.
