Facebook, home to over one billion users, has officially unveiled plans for a free job marketplace. This innovative feature bridges the gap between users and businesses, allowing companies to post job openings that registered users can easily apply for. Soon, job hunting on Facebook could become a reality.
This new tool positions Facebook as a direct rival to LinkedIn in professional networking, though it's primarily geared toward small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Job postings will appear as sponsored content in users' news feeds, similar to existing ads. Clicking an offer opens a pre-filled application form populated with details from your Facebook profile—which you can edit before sending it to the recruiter via Messenger. A standout feature: users can tag friends in comments or share opportunities directly, leveraging Facebook's robust identification system. Already live in the US and Canada, CEO Mark Zuckerberg aims to roll it out globally. If it reaches markets like France, it might be wise to curate your profile photos accordingly.
