How to Extend Your Office 365 Home Subscription with Personal Vouchers

Office 365 delivers exceptional value for frequent Office users, bundling the full suite with premium features like 1TB OneDrive storage and Skype credit—all for a modest subscription fee. That's why we strongly recommend skipping standalone Office 2016. Don't buy Office 2016! Here's why you don't need it.

Microsoft offers two home plans: Office 365 Personal at $7/month (apps on desktop/mobile, 1TB OneDrive, 60 Skype minutes) and Office 365 Home at $10/month for up to five users. For families or shared use, Home is the clear winner.

New PCs often include a voucher for a free year of Office 365 Personal. However, Microsoft doesn't allow multiple subscriptions per account, so many users gift it away or cancel.

Good news: You can apply that Personal voucher to extend your Office 365 Home subscription!

Visit your Office account page and select Enter your product key. Input the Personal key, then choose to add nine months to your Home plan (or switch to Personal for a year). Stick with Home for multi-user support.

Those vouchers aren't worthless—each is worth $90. Planning a new PC purchase as your subscription nears renewal? Hold onto that code!
