Annoyances like automatic link previews when composing emails are easy to fix.
One quick workaround: type the URL plainly, like makeuseof.com. No preview generates. Embedding links in text works too, but it's tedious for casual shares.
Head to Outlook settings and turn it off in four straightforward steps:

Prefer previews sometimes? Disable them per message. After pasting a link, click the gray X beside it to remove the preview.

Note: This option is web-only; desktop and mobile Outlook apps lack link preview controls.
