Thankfully, disabling this feature is straightforward, though it's only available in OneNote 2016. The modern version pre-installed on Windows 10 doesn't offer this option. No problem—OneNote 2016 is free to download.
To get it: You'll see a message saying OneNote is already installed—ignore it and select Other download options. Click the Free Download link. Choose a save location or let it download based on your browser settings.
