Evernote excels at organizing notes, bookmarks, images, business cards, and more in one central hub. But as your library grows, finding key items can become challenging.
Fortunately, powerful shortcuts—often overlooked—put everything at your fingertips. As a long-time Evernote power user, I've streamlined my workflow by creating shortcuts to notebooks, individual notes, tags, and even saved searches.
Web Users: Open the note, notebook, or tag, then click the star icon in the top menu. Or, from the navigation sidebar, hover over the item and click the star to add it to shortcuts.

Desktop Users (Windows or Mac): Right-click the item in the sidebar and select "Add to Shortcuts." Alternatively, drag and drop items directly onto the Shortcuts panel in the sidebar. Mac users can also Control-click for the context menu.

Mobile Users: On iOS, open notebooks or tags and tap the star in the bottom-right corner; for notes, open the note, tap the three-dot menu, and select "Add to Shortcuts." Android is simpler: long-press the note, notebook, stack, or tag, then tap "Add to Shortcuts."
Search shortcuts are desktop-only via drag-and-drop. On Windows or Mac, click the search bar to view saved searches, then drag desired ones to the Shortcuts panel in the sidebar.

Access all shortcuts from the vertical sidebar menu. In collapsed view, it's marked with a star icon.
To remove items: On web or desktop, go to the Shortcuts list and click the dashboard (X) button next to each. Right-click on desktop for the menu option.
On iOS, swipe left on items to delete, or tap the three-dot menu and choose "Remove from Shortcuts." Android: long-press and select "Remove from Shortcuts."
