Excel supports hiding several sheets at once via group selection. Click the first sheet, then hold Shift for adjacent tabs or Ctrl for non-adjacent ones.
As shown, I've selected Sheet2 and Sheet3. With them grouped, navigate to Home > Cells > Format.
Choose Hide & Unhide > Hide Sheet.
The tabs disappear cleanly.

To reveal a hidden sheet, right-click any visible sheet tab and select Unhide.
This opens the Unhide dialog:
